BraveHeart Initiative for Youth and Women was initiated by Priscilla Ikos Usiobaifo on August 26th, 2002 as a youth development Club carrying out skills training for youths. On 7th April 2007, it transformed into a youth led, youth focused non governmental organization with primary focus on skills training and HIV AIDS prevention among youths. In October 2009, it registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a youth led, youth focused community based NGO empowering and developing young people between the ages of 10 and 25 years through information and skills training to make informed choices, grow into self actualized adults capable of contributing towards a better society.
The main areas of BHI activity have been: Youth Empowerment under which she carries out volunteer training, leadership training, and economic skills training; Sexual and Reproductive Health promotion through awareness creation, peer education and provision of counseling services; Gender and Human rights sensitization, mobilization and advocacy.
Till date, BHI has empowered over 8000 youths through the several programs and meetings conducted over the years in various secondary schools, among faith based institutions and in the community.
Over the years, BHI has carried out Sexuality Education through its In-School OUTREACH activities in fifteen secondary schools within Akoko Edo LGA of Edo State, Nigeria. Namely:

Ojirami Mixed Secondary School, Ojirami,
Ikpeshi Mixed Sexcondary School – Ikpeshi
Okpameri Grammar School – Ibillo and,
Ibillo-Okha Secondary School-Ibillo.
The outreach visits were conducted thrice in an academic session (i.e One visit per term). The outreach schools are from seven (7) communities namely: Igarra, Enwan, Uneme Nekhua, Ojirami, Okpe, Ibillo and Ikpeshi out of the Fifty-Two (52) communities within Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. BHI expands to additional communities on a yearly basis.
